The stitches on Brokenheart's mouth are there so he wont be able to attack or injure another cat. They do not come off, but the do unhinge from time to time so that he may speak. But since they are woven into his mouth, its hurts, alot.

The heart shaped wound on his chest never ceases to bleed. Although it never stops, he does face the possibility of too much blood loss. When he gets too noisy or excited the bleeding will increase, causing excess blood loss (another reason for the sitches on his mouth). But it also his tender, or weak spot. One blow 'to the heart' and he's dead. But when touched correctly, Brokenheart may submit to anyone. (*nudge nudge*)
